Hi all,
I need some help again from the Community. I'm trying to adjust the X-position in a motion using a macro or other form of dynamic input.
I tried to record a macro and change the value manually but within the motion window it doesn't detect the changes.
Basically what I'm trying to do is sort of an election bar which goes up to a certain level which I can change easily. But it's a graphic that I'm trying to use so I can't just stretch the shape.
Anyone here that can help me?
Greets,
Kenneth

What software are you using for this exactly and how are you recording a macro? At the moment this sounds a bit strange compared to what I think you are trying to do.

I assume that your graph grows on the x axis since you mentioned the "x position". There are many ways to do this. What's your background? If it's just a plain color then you could create a layer on top with that same color and using something like th Picture in Picture (PiP) effect make a small box to cover your graph bar and adjust it's length using keyframes to make the graph bar appear to grow. Just make sure that you start off with your bar graphic having its full length.
That's just one straight forward way of doing it. But there are many, and depending on what elements you might be mixing (e.g. video background, motion graphics, titles, logos etc). There's so many things you can do to get this effect.
It may help if you describe more about how your graphic is constructed and what other elements are being used to make the final "composite". That way, if what you are trying to do is actually more complex than it seems at present, then hopefully there are some other tricks that people know that could help you.

Hi Puddy,
I'm using Deko 2000 for this but without cliplayer. Only Motion Timeline.
The background is transparent because the graphic has to be keyed over the video.
There's a little competition in the show where the host and his challenger have to pull a truck by using their own musslepower. In the end the person that pulled the truck the furthest, wins. So what I'm trying to create is a graphic of a truck where the beginning position is fixed. And where the end position depends on how far the truck has been pulled. So I need to pass the length into Deko so that it adjusts the X-position in a motion. (X-position = X-axis but it's just called X-position in Motion Timeline). Then at the end of the turn of each contender, the graphic shows them how far the truck has been pulled and thus who has won the challenge.
BTW, the show is live so no post-production.
It all makes sense now and I see what you mean about the macro part.
I'm afraid I can't help you on this one but good luck with it and I hope you figure out a solution.
