I am using the Avid Xpress pro 5.8 on a 360 dell workstation with 2.4 G cpu + 2G RAM.

Looking to upgrade my graphic card.

the alternatives: Nvidia quadro FX 3000 (128 bit 256 Mh)

                                                    or

                          Nvidia Quadro FX500 (128 bit 128 MH)

can anyone enlighten me on how much they differ?

If you are going to upgrade, I wouldn't put to much money on a fat graphic card, as the difference isn't that big. Yes to a card with more memory if you have really high resolution on your computer monitors.

I would save up money for a new faster computer, once the system requirements for the new versions of Avid software are released.
