Is the box of the commercial version the same as the academic or is it different? In the commercial version box, does it list third party software?

Last time I saw Academic software (and it's been a while), it didn't come in a box at all. More of an envelope with a DVD in it. 

Academic will get you the program, and help files on a dvd.  No manuals.  But, it is a full version, only difference is that in the startup splash screen it says academic.  Plus, you get NO third party apps. 

Dogg is correct, no box.  Envelope if your lucky:):)  Naa, its just all shrink wrapped together.

Mine came with a box and a manual.  Just the "Getting Started" manual, but that's still 2" thick.  It does not come with BCC.

 I ordered MC Academic from Videoguys on Wed, March 26 and received it on Friday the 28th.  I received a box containing the software, the Media Composer Basics manual, and Sonic DVDit.  I was told that Sorenson shipped with it, but that was not the case.  Great deal, great service from Videoguys, give them a call!

 I didn't know that "academic" shows up on splash screen, I also would add a watermark to the edited video !

 Just an update:  I sent an email to Videoguys letting them know that Squeeze was not included in the package and they forwarded me a downloadable copy the next day.  It seems that in this day and age most companies would have just said 'sorry, we thought it was included' and done nothing, Videoguys stepped up and made it right.  GREAT JOB!
