Can anyone recommend the Avid Messenger Bag?

Saw this Avid Messenger Bag on the Store site.  Looks kinda cool, but I've bought another messenger bag before online and was not happy with the purchase.  Wondering if anyone has this bag or has seen this bag?  Is it a sturdy quality design, etc...

Avid Messenger Bag at Avid Store $39.95
This messenger bag features a front organizational panel, a spacious main compartment with a padded laptop sleeve, and a side water bottle pocket.  It also has a a comfort grip haul handle and an adjustable padded shoulder strap for comfortable carrying.  Avid logo is featured on the front.  Available in Stone/Black.
    Dimensions:  18.5" W x 15.5" H x 7" D

    Thanks,
    Craig

I have the previous incarnation of that bag... I like it pretty well.  Mine looks different though.

I think I have the earlier version of that bag too....not too bad, but the "zipper" pulls all fell off within the first 3 weeks of owning it.  Mine holds a 17" PB very well (I use an additional padded sleeve for the PB and it still fits in there fine.).

If the Avid logo isn't a requirement then you shoud check out Timbuk2 for messenger bags.  More expensive than the Avid bag, but you get what you pay for.

I'll second the Timbuk2 recommendation.  I've had mine for years now and it just keeps taking a beating and still looking good.

The best part is it has a waterproof lining.  We had a water leak here and I came in to find the bag sitting in 2 1/2 inches of water.  The inside was bone dry.

    cheers,

edit:  I linked a picture of it in case you wanted to see what they look like.
