    Capture & Other Defaults

     Hello,

We're running a few AXP 5.8 latest w/ Mojo.  For some time now I have tried to set the default capture source to DNA-1394, but for some reason all attempts fail.  I have done some searching here, but have not found steps that work.

We would also like to, by default, setup that the system drive is filtered out, but that is a per-project setting.  Any ideas on how to make that user or site permanent?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Keith

    Re: Capture & Other Defaults

    Hi Keith,

First open up the Site Settings.  Next, after setting up your Media Creation settings how you want them, drag them into the Site Settings window.  From this point onward, every project you create will have the same Media Creation settings as the ones you just put in Site Settings.

I'm not sure if doing the same will work with your Capture Settings, as I don't know if the selected input is part of the setting, but I'd give it a shot.

    good luck,
    Carl

Thanks for your response.  Where does one find 'Site Settings'?  I've searched around all the drop-down menus and did not see it.

    Thanks,

    Keith

    Hi,

I'm not in front of a machine at the moment, but try looking under the Settings tab of the Project Window.

    good luck,

With the settings tab active in the project window, left click on the fast (hamburger) menu - it's at the bottom. Open the site settings window and then drag capture settings into the site settings window.

I could be missing something.  Site Settings is not in the Settings tab hamburger menu for me.  Should I have mentioned that this is an educational version?

    Re: Capture & Other Defaults

I don't see it there.  My special menu has the following:

    • MultiCamera Mode
    • Read Audio Timecode
    • Device -> Avid DNA; IEEE 1394
    • Using DNA Client Monitor

My Setting tab hamburger menu has the following:

    • Active Settings
    • All Settings
    • Base Settings
    • Bin Views
    • Export Settings
    • Import Settings
    • Timeline Views
    • Title Styles
    • Video Tool Settings
    • Workspaces

    Hi,

If you select All Settings in the hamburger menu, does Site Settings show up in the list?

    good luck,

Strange, because my settings list is identical to yours, with the "site settings" option as the last item on the list.

    Re: Capture & Other Defaults

The only reference to 'Site Settings' I have found is in the settings list ... a couple settings groups are 'Site' (while the majority are 'User' and a few 'Project').  'Site Settings' is not in the hamburger menu or in the Special menu.  I'll take screen shots if you don't believe me.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Keith

Please do... it's not that we don't believe you, it's that it's highly unusual.

I'll have to launch my old XpressPro system and see what I can find out.  I may not get a chance to do it until later tonight.
