    separating audio tracks

I have audio on tracks [1-2] main audio    [3-4] nat sound   [ 5-6 ]  music

I need to output my program to dv mini for another editor and they specified to make certain audio was on separate channels for them..  Upon outputting it seems that the tracks become mixed and not seperate as I have then set up in my program... How do I keep these tracks separate ??? Thanks

    Hi,

Open the Audio Tool.  One of the buttons at the top (I'm not in front of a machine and I don't remember which one) will open up the output section, where you can choose Direct Out, which will send each track of your sequence to whatever channel you pick.

    good luck,
    Carl

    Re: separating audio tracks

you could make 3 duplicates of your sequence and in each one delete 4 tracks so you end up with 3 sequences, each one with 1-2 or 3-4 or 5-6 from you original, and output them one by one to tape. only takes a minute to prepare.

On Mini DV on 48 Khz all you will get is 2 channels so you either need to dump 3 times or have only 2 channels. You could switch to 32 Khz and use 4 channels on DV-Cam. For anything more then 2 channel audio you will either need to export to XD-Cam, P2 or go through a Mojo SDI and embed audio 4 channel in the SDI...
