Exactly.. something Avid should have bought YEARS ago and incorporated into the software.
Trust me, No one in Tewks need me to suggest this. It's been a feature request for years.

I know. It was really more of a joke than a Feature Request. As shown by the Big Smiley at the end.

Does this mean they are deaf ? No, joking aside, I agree that rotation is very useful for P&Z, anyway, I use it sometimes with Moving Picture, but can create unwanted artefacts, depending on the strill you apply it on.
Hi guys, this is Randy from Avid engineering. The change in behavior you're describing was done to fix memory problems. Previously, we cached the P&Z images at their full resolution for real-time playback. This caused all sorts of nasty out-of-memory conditions, because images were often much larger than video images. Now we cache the images at "video resolution" for real-time playback (regardless of your cache settings), as well as providing more intelligent automatic cache behavior. This has fixed numerous complaints we had with the system running of out memory. Be assured, though, that the actual render of the effect will produce the result with the full image resolution, and with the filter quality selected.
I hope this clarifies the situation,
-Randy

Thanks very much for the clarification. But I can't resist now that Avid has chimed in.... how about rotation?
I hear you loud and clear. I can't promise anything, but I will be sure to take this to the Product Management team, who is responsible for prioritizing all of the editor work to be done.
That's interesting !

Thanks for the continued dongle support
Ah, I see what you're after now. Perhaps we could cache the image at a higher res in effects mode. I'd have to research this to see if this is possible.
Thanks for the feedback,
