I made the mistake of upgrading to 10.4.11 and now my version of xpress pro 4.6 will not launch.  I guess I need to downgrade back to 10.4.6.  It seemed to launch with that OSX version although I didn't try to do any serious editing.  How do I downgrade?  What version of express pro should I be running on 10.4.6?  I'm using a G4 dual 1.25.  Or would it be best to downgrade back to 10.3.9 and forget about tiger?

For 10.4.6, you can run 'Pro 4.8.4 at the latest.

To downgrade, you just put your Tiger disk in and choose "Archive and Install" in the installation options.

Thanks again for your help.  I did a archive & install and am now running 10.4.6.  I then downloaded xpress pro 4.8.4  however it will not open.  I get a box telling me "QuickTime cannot open the file: "AvidXpressPro_4.8.4.sitx" it is not a file that Quicktime understands (-2048)"    I'm running v. 7.0.4 of quicktime.  any ideas why?

You will have to reinstall Avid but all you should have to do for AE is re-authorize.
