Can someone recommend a freeware video burner that actually works and doesn't put a watermark on your video. I've been struggling with this sonic MyDVD program but for some reason it won't deal with a .vob file.
CDBurnerXP Pro 3 is free but I've only used it for really simple stuff so it might not work for what you want.
Surely you must be able to get hold of a cheap copy of of an early version of Nero or something ?
I hate television. I hate it as much as I hate peanuts. But I can't stop eating peanuts.

Mydvd is one of the very worst programmes I've ever wrestled...! Worth giving up on that now- it tries to re-encode anything you throw at it, for a start.
If you want to author a dvd, there are a few free programmes out there but I've got no experience as to whether they work ok. (I tried one and gave up, it was kind've clunky, but did seem to be able to make a dvd with menus.)
There should be a way to simply burn the .vob files directly- but there's a particular files/folder fomat and structure for dvds that you have to get right.
There's a lot of info at http://www.videohelp.com/ - the "guides" can be very useful: they at least can give you an idea of how techno-savvy you have to be to use different software.
.vob files generally have some copyright protection on them. Go to www.nchsoftware.com you can download the DVD burner for 14 days free trial to get what you want done. Also they have some video conversion software if you want to convert the .vob to something that will work for you
