Has anyone had any problems with the keyboard not accepting commands?

It happens randomly, and I have to click in either the source or record window to restore keyboard input.

I'm running SN 1.8, swapped keyboards and also completely rebuilt my user settings from scratch, but the problem persists.

If it still happens after you delete MC state see if it does it after rolling back to 1.7.7 if it doesn't happen then then it might be a bug with 1.8 but I can't see the Avid boys missing something like that.

I have not had the issue. Occasionally, (very rarely) some functions - like matchframe - stop working. Then I just quit the app and relaunch and all is fine again.

Today I encountered another thing. Going back and forth between iTunes and SN, at a certain point I cannot type in a comment field anymore. The app just doesn't respond to the typing. Quit and relaunch and it is back.

Wow this has been a problem for me since 1.7...usually the keyboard shortcut for overwrite stops working...then matchframe...then if I change from one workspace to another and then back (F11 then F12 then F11) and all works well.  I have replaced keyboards, usb cables, din cables...then later (for other issues) both the codec card and DNA comm card, and the 8200, and the app and the drive, and the OS and the DNA cards, and......all works very well now (except for a scsi uncompressed HD playback issue...another story)...I just thought this was an known issue...oh and the projects and the user settings and all the app settings and....OK so short story, try changing workspaces back and forth and let me know if that works.

Hi all! I also have the same problem since version 1.0. When i hit a key, even JKL sometimes take 1/2 second to do it... with in and out and so on! Now i´ve version 1.7.7 and... voilá... same problem... a machine with 8gb of ram shouldn´t do this... or it´s another problem? Yes, changing form workspace to worspace helps... but it´s not the solution... i had this poblem with the 1st adrenalines... connected via firewire... but with nitris (?) or the connecting is a "fake firewire" that fancy cable?  Strage, I haven't had any keyboard problems. Have you tried making a new user setting?

Have seen this behaviour too.  workaround for me is to 'clear bin memory' (in lieu of reboot), smells of memory leakage as this oddity never happens first thing in morning... .

iTunes installed on the same workstation as SN?  That will only lead to problems.

Nope, no itunes; not even an internet connection.
Photoshop & Sorenson are the only real software additions,
aside from Avid and Unity installations.

The memory leak tip was helpful, and I'm trying that every so often to gauge effectiveness in dealing with my problems.
