Hi all,
Almost all day yesterday, and for several hours this morning, whenever I tried to go to any part of the new Community section of the forums, I got this error message:
Oops something went wrong!Either the site is offline or an unhandled error occurred. We apologize and have logged the error. Please try your request again or if you know who your site administrator is let them know too.
I got this on both IE and Firefox. Anybody know what's going on?
adios,Carl
There is no such thing as a video emergency. My Demo Website
Carl:
It was like that from about 2:00 PM (EDT) yesterday to about 7:00 PM yesterday. All seems to be OK since then.

I'm having that problem now when I try to get to any forum page on Safari. Firefox is letting me in, but I know Thursday afternoon and all day Friday I couldn't get in using either Browser.
IE 7 seems to be working fine, at least in the DC area.
Thanks Larry. Unfortunately that doesn't do us Mac users much good. My guess is it's an oversight in the new forum format (although it did work for a few days) and so I'm keeping this thread going, hoping someone in charge will take note.
Or maybe the long-running rumors are right and Avid is abandoning their Mac users.
Martin in Chicago:I'm keeping this thread going, hoping someone in charge will take note.
Hi Martin,
I forwarded this thread along to Pif.
good luck,Carl
It's all good now.
Do you really want to know what's wrong...or do you just want me to fix it?

Hee, hee. Really, how was I supposed to not use that subject line?
Now I can get here on Safari, but not Firefox. My last post was at home. I'm now at my client's where I need to check email on Firefox. When I clicked on the hot link in the Automated Email of your post it took me to the 'Oops!' page. I tried to go directly to the forum without the link and it still took me there. Copying the link and pasting into Safari got me here.
I can easily come here from Safari, but thought you (or the web meister) would want to know.
Martin, are you still having that issue? We actually ran into a problem with lack of disk space (apparently placing the log files on the smallest drive wasn't a good idea - who'd a thought?) that was causing the error message. And I know that Safari tends to hang on to it's cache unless you change it's config. But by now everything should be running smoothly.
So if not, let me know.
Mike (sorry, I'll call you Pif if you prefer, but it seems so disrespectful to one one who's helping me out),
I'm still at home and, yes, I'm still finding that Safari won't let me into the forum, but Firefox will. Yesterday was the same, but when I got to work I could get into Safari, and not Firefox.
I'm assuming when you refer to lack of disk space you meant on Avid's end, not mine?
I'll check on which browser is working when I get to work and report back.
Mike,
OK, so I'm at work now and, just like yesterday, I can get to the forums on Safari and not on Firefox. This is exactly the opposite of my experience at home.
In case it's helpful, I'm running Mac OS 10.4.10 at home and 10.4.11 at work. Work is running Safari Version 3.1 (4525.13) and Firefox version 2.0.0.12. I'm not sure what browser versions I'm running at home, but they should be similar.
My coworker is running Firefox 1.5.0.12 and Safari v. 3.0.4 and he can get to the forums on both browsers. He's also running OS 10.4.11.
I'm still having the same problem at home: can get into the forums on Firefox and not on Safari. But now I can tell you what my setup is here:
OS X 10.4.10
Safari Version 3.0.3 (522.12.1)
Firefox Version 2.0.0.8
Is there any update to this? I'm running the latest version of Firefox for Mac at work (v. 2.0.0.13) and I still get the 'Oops!' message when I attempt to any of the Community. I know Pif said at one time it had something to do with disc space, but I was assuming that was disc space on the server's end, not mine.
I'm stuck right now using Firefox at work for other reasons and I'd love to be able to have only one browser up.
Most of these problems have cleared up for us Martin. Haven't seen the oops message in days.
