I wanted to let you all know that, as of the next release of the Media composer software, the single processor G5 systems will fall off of Avid's supported configurations list. The only G5s supported will be the dual processors and up.
As the Avid software moves forward, CPU demands will be increasing so, if you are, at all, considering the move up to Intel, the time is approaching. So, as you upgrade to Media Composer, keep that in mind.
You have some time before the next release is out (no I don't know when it will be but I know it won't be next week) so I wanted you to be forewarned .
Do you really want to know what's wrong...or do you just want me to fix it?
FCP2Avid
As always, not supported doesn't mean it won't work. Just that it's not tested and you will not be able to get tech support on the system.
