If you can get a refund that would not be in your financial interest...

$1700 + $500 = $2200

New MC = $2500.

I guess Avid can give you one since it means a $300 profit :)

You pay $495 for the upgrade, if you want it. and get MC for less that the new price, $2,495.

reason im having a bad day is i just had to buy Sony Vegas..... yeah its like my worst nightmare.

its the only NLE that will work with my AVCHD footage. :( again

It is now official. Press release is out.

What I REALLY LIKE is that post Jan 1 2008 buyers of Media Composer gets credit for future purchase. That is huge. This is rarely done.

This is great news. Is it available immediately? Now... if it's not asking too much... Avid could really beat FCP if they would just support HD output through Kona.

The Avid store has been updated to reflect the Media Composer price of $2,495, but it doesn't appear that you can buy the upgrade to MC from Xpress Pro online. I hope this changes soon--our nearest Avid reseller is about 3 hours away. I'd rather buy online.
