Hello, after moving my project from one avid to another and back I had some corrupt files which I succsefuly quarantined. But now when I try to play a couple of my sequences I get an error saying "offset exceeds length of stream". Does anyone know what I can do about that? Thanks!
Ok I just spotted that the problem seems to be on specific effects. When I click on them I get the above error on the screen and then an error on the composer monitor saying "structure error".

Larry Rubin: Also, since you've been moving the project around between platforms, you should delete and rebuild the Media Database files.
I'd suggest to begin with Larry's second recommendation !
What's your opinion Larry ?

EXCELLENT, Randall !
Since you can open and use the suspect material in a new project, I would suspect that your "(Project name)settings.avs" file is corrupted in the original project. You could try deleting that as well.
As to your other issue, it sounds like you have a bad drive. If you have duplicate media on different drives, you can change linkage of pointer/media files by using the unlink/relink function and when re-linking, target only the appropriate drive. Then have your suspect drive checked out.
Sometimes permissions issues can be the culprit, However you'll see the "access denied" message.
All my projects and media are playing fine BUT, I use Media Mover software for backup and it does not recognize my last 4 projects properly (2 it doesn't see) - instead it sees a huge unknown MXF project. If I quarantine the corrupt files to do my Media Mover back up - can I then put them back in the media folder to continue the project editing? Some files are 25 GB movs from Final Cut HD so they would take a long time to re-import. I'm using MC Adrenaline V. 2.8.4.
Thanks,
Nancy

What is it that makes you suspect you have corrupt files if, as you say:
Ace Editor:All my projects and media are playing fine...
Now:
Ace Editor:it does not recognize my last 4 projects properly (2 it doesn't see) - instead it sees a huge unknown MXF project.
This alone does not necessarily mean you have corruption issues. Where are you seeing this "unknown MXF project"? The select project window? Somewhere else? Posting a screen shot here would be helpful. If you're unfamiliar with how to do that, click on the "options" tab at the top of the reply field, then click on "add/update" to browse for the file, select it and then "save", then post.
