I will install these and check them out now.
Question, in the install directory there is the Assumptions document that states:
"Avid Codecs LE is not currently installed"
The best I can do is uninstall the codecs, right? Also, when I do uninstall the codecs, I see that the Avid components still exist in "..quicktime/QTComponents" I end up overwriting those with the new install.
The 1.6 codecs do work fine.
Also, I see that the 1.6 codec components are dated 9/10/2007
I have been using other codec components that are dated 11/13/2007 and they have been working fine as well.
Another thing I noticed. When I uninstall the codecs via windows Uninstall, it does not remove the components from the quicktime directory. I must manually remove the files before installing a new codec package if I am going down in version (such as 1.8 to 1.6)
Thanks
Lucas
That is all great info. I recommend using the 1.6 DNxHD codecs for the time being. Unless you wanted to get real adventuresome and replace only the 1.8 AvidAVdnCodec.qtx with the 1.6 leaving the rest. That way you could use all the 1.8 codecs as ususal except for the DNxHD codec.
The problems with the 1.8 DNxHD codecs and CS3 has been brought to the attention of engineering. I'll post here once I get more information.
If there is anyone else out there having this problem can you please:
1.) Download the Avid16bitEnable.zip from the following link.Click Here
2.) Unzip the Avid16bitEnable.zip and place the Avid16bitEnable.jsx file within:C:\Program Files\Adobe\After Effects\Scripts\Startup3.) Relaunch AE CS3 and try the 1.8 DNxHD codecs in 16bpc again.
Hi,
Unfortunately this did not fix the issue on my machine. It seems that AE reacts the same.
Hello
Don't solve problem for me as well. Same behaviour in AE.
Andrzej.
I would still export to QT Animation if I were you. It always works perfectly.
Has there been any update to the issue of the 1.8 dnXhd codecs in 16-bit/32-bit mode for After Effects?
The bug has been found and a fix is in the works. It is in testing now and should be released along with MC 3.0 next month.
