DekoCast 4.1x group composite style issue

Why is the ability to use a clip as a mask for grouped objects disabled in 4.1x versions of the DekoCast SW?

After a system crash on one of my DekoCasts with the 4.0x SW (where this functionality exists) I'm trying to recreate the scene on a 4.1.2 system with no luck. Using a still (Deko object) and moving it  works in 4.1.2, however I need more accurate masking than that for this application.

Is it a bug or a feature, or maybe a Corsica Board issue?

The 4.0x system is a Corsica SD only, and the 4.1.2 system is an SD / HD Hybrid

We're working in SD PAL 16x9

Anyone run into this, any solutions?

Re: DekoCast 4.1x group composite style issue

    Hi Sam,

I spoke with the SQA department and there could be an issue between Targa-based systems and Corsica-based. But this is the same system right, just different versions of software?

They asked me to have you phone into Broadcast Support to troubleshoot your finding. If it is a bug and can be fixed, they would like to log it into the system.

Please contact Broadcast Support at 1-800-639-7364, choose 1, then 5 for On-Air Graphics support.

    Thanks,

    Teicia

Re: DekoCast 4.1x group composite style issue

It looks like you are in Qatar, so you should please contact your local support. This error indicates that the software is not detecting the I/O card (Corsica). Has anything changed recently or did this just suddenly happen?

As a point of reference, when all OAG units are shipped, we include the Acronis program which can be used to back up and/or restore your system partition. We recommend that when after you install your system and everything is working to your satisfaction, please make a backup of the system partition at that time. Then if a problem occurs at a later date, you can always restore to this known good state.

If you did not make a backup, we also ship an image of the system in teh E:\System_restore folder. You can use Acronis to create a bootable media disk. And then before restoring that original backup, I always recommend making a backup of the current system - just so that you can at least restore to the current state.

Once you have created a bootable rescue disk, boot off that. Then navigate to the E:\System_restore folder and restore either your backup or the default image.tib. The default does NOT have any software loaded. So aftter rebooting, you will need to go through the entire new system installation process. I recommend NOT activating Windows until after you are sure the restore will actually "fix" youyr system.
