    Multicamera Uncompressed?

Had a few issues on here but most have been resolved.  Just recently however, I am getting an error.

I edit a 3 camera show together with Multicamera mode.  Have done a few already with no error.

I am not using the Mojo as it doesn't work right most of the time anyway.

ERROR when trying to play while in Multicamera mode.

Uncompressed streams are not allowed in Multicamera Mode. Please remove uncompressed sources from your group clips before attempting to play them in a split view.

    ***

All of my clips are DV25 captures. I only have V1 as the viewable track.
editing with AVID Xpress Pro 5.7 Studio complete.
HP xw8400 fully loaded to the max.
Do not have the Mojo hooked up.  Shut down the Playback to DV Device.
Opened recent projects that I was able to use multicam just fine and get the same message.
    Haven't installed any new software.
There are no UNCOMPRESSED files on my system even that I know of..
I can scrub the timeline and see the changes in the Quadsplit as well as Program monitor.

If you have seen this problem or know of a solution or can think of anything that this 4 month newbee hasn't, please respond.  I will be up all night.

    Thank you,

    Re: Multicamera Uncompressed?

You probably have done this, but look at your media creations settings to make sure all is set to DV25.  Look at effects aperature to make sure you are at DV settings.  Look at the individual clips in your capture bins and make absoultely sure you have DV25 clips.

In other words look at EVERY setting in your project to make sure something is not set to uncompressed.  The new Avids with their "Open Timeline" can get tangled up and get one setting wrong deep inside a setting.  And this can mess a whole lotta things up.

I feel your pain.  Just take a deep breath, start at the top of the Settings list and check everything.

    Good luck,

    Jef

The answer to your problems lies in the Settings.  If indeed you don't have any mixed compression settings.

In the "Video Display" Setting, you will notice a cute parameter allowing you to allow the Avid to play a certain # of streams.  The default is set to 2, if you change this to 3, you will be able to play your multicam clip.
