Ok but I still need to know exactly which OS you have on which you are attempting to run the Avid software. Tiger encompasses 10.4.0 all the way to 10.4.11.

Also, the earliest version of the software that will run on a Mac Pro is x.7.5.

    You need to upgrade.

    Re: Got a Dongle Problem?

I have Avid Express Pro 5.5.0 and Mac 10.4.7. I would like to update my mac to 10.4.9 so I can run adobe cs3 but I've heard that my version of Avid will not work on 10.4.9. Should I update my Avid first, then Mac? Will I have to uninstall my 5.5.0 and lose all my projects? I've heard that I need to update my dongle when I upgrade... Thanks!

    Re: Got a Dongle Problem?

Update the OS then update the Avid and then update the dongle so the Avid will work.  (In this case you'll need to update the dongle after you install the new Avid software as the dongle drivers are also updated.)  Your projects and media files are independent of the Application so you shouldn't lose anything.

MacPro, MacBook Pro and a Cube. The Cube doesn't do much but it looks cool. [view my complete system specs]
Must think of something clever to go here...

    FYI -

Avid says the Rainbow Duo Dongle will work with the XPRO to MC upgrade. I'm going to try it this weekend.

I have 10 Avid systems, DX, Meridian and DNA. 1 MCA 1.8 on 2.5 quad G5 w/ 5 Gigs of Ram, 1 Symphony Nitris DX on eight core mac pro with 4 gig ram, 1 MC... [view my complete system specs]
