Exception: Video SIgnal present but not captured

I just upgraded from Xpress DV 3.5 to Xpress Pro 5.7.5. I am trying to capture HDV footage through firewire into a 1080i/59.94 HDV project but I always get the error message "Exception: Video Signal present but not captured.". The only way to get footage in is by digitizing on the fly without timecode, so batch/digitizing is impossible.
I have tried digitizing from two different cameras, Sony's Z1U and Canon's HV20, both with the same result.

This is what the console has to say:

    unit type = UNIT_TYPE_VIDEO_CAMERA
AUTOCONFIGURE Firewire NODE 1: Device ID does not match, trying to match family code...
AUTOCONFIGURE Firewire NODE 1: Device code '' not matched to machine.

Maybe a bit late but still wanted to add advice for future help seekers.
This problem is related to preroll issues. In the capture window, set preroll to custom preroll and give it 10 sec (try less if it works).

If your tape starts at zero, bad luck, you may have to let go of the first few seconds of the tape or copy the beginning to another tape with more preroll time.

Also, if your tape has many TC drop outs and you don't need the TC for editing, you may uncheck the TC button un the uper button row (very right of V/A1/A2 etc.)
