P2 media span, first half of video and audio is offline, second piece is onine -

    Version MC 2.7.2

When using the "import P2 media" function, when a clip is large (exceeds 2gbs?) the first part of the clip shows ups as "offline".

    Any suggestions?

Not sure this is related, but on a recent P2 project, we had some clips that spanned P2 cards.  When I imported the last clip from Card b1, for example, it had no outpoiint and the last half of the media was offline.  This was the first time I had seen this.

When I imported the first clip from Card 2, which had the same name as the last one on Card 1, it was fixed.  It treated both clips as copies of each other.

Is it possible there's another card?

I've had this problem: one long clip is on two cards. If I use the File>Import P2 method, I get a clip which becomes offline as it reaches its middle. If I use the second method (should I say "official method since it's in the Help and on this website) and copy all the files from those two cards directly into the Avid Mediafiles (MXF) folder and then use the Media Tool, I can access the file which gives me the first half of the clip, but the second doesn't appear. It does appear though if I display the Media Files in the Media Tool, but I can't move those in a bin, nor open them.
    Any idea?

Just downloaded the 5.7.5 update, the ReadMe states that this behaviour should have been fixed! Now I'll wait for an official announcement of this new version! ;-)

    Sorry for the late reply.

No, there is no other card, just a REALLY long clip that exceeds 2GBs in its media size.

I tried the new version quickly, and the clip that spanned across two cards came through. More testing tomorrow, but it's a great step for man kind - or at least for us using P2!

This is great for Xpress Pro users, but what about for MC users?
