Here is a puzzle that I have not been able to solve.
When rendering effects, such as CPU or GPU, the effects in the video gets corrupted with lines and pixelazation. This only happens when my video is stored on my raid drive. I am able to store my video on a local drive and use the raid drive for rendering. No issues in that configuration.
The raid controller is an Adaptec 2820SA. I have tried different PCI-X slots (changing interrupts), slowing down the speed of the slot (133 down to 66), and turning off any cache on the raid controller. All cards were removed except for the Adaptec Raid 2820SA and ATI 1950 PXI-E Graphics card. The problem still existed when the graphic card was replaced with a Nvidia 6800GT.
That leaves me with the Supermicro X6DA3-GS2 motherboard, Adaptec Raid 2820SA, and Liquid 7.2. I have tried Supermicro and Adaptec support. No luck.... I am guessing that Liquid is interfering with the Adaptec drivers when rendering.
PS: This is not a ATI issue. I have tried earlier drivers. Current drivers work when not using raid.
Onboard raid works fine, except limits my SATA drives to 1.5Gbs. So I would love to get the Adaptec 2820SA working... (3.0Gbs transfer speed for SATA 2)
Additional specs: win xp sp2, 4 gigs, raid compiled of 8 sumsung 250 gb drives at 3.0gbs (0 striped)
