How can I set chapter markers on timeline of media composer?

Hi guys, it may sound silly but how do I set chapter markers on the timeline of media composer 2.7.3 on mac so that I can create a dvd with chapter markers?
    Thanks in advance,

You use FCP or you set your Chapter markers in DVDSP.

    Zia:
This has been a confounding problem with Avid for a few years now.  And trust me I've asked numerous times for this option - no go.  Shocking when you have the metadata tracks and other options that could easily translate to chapter markers for all kinds of output - frustrating!  Anyway, we too use FCP to create chapter markers (with all of the data necessary) and output to iDVD (yes, iDVD for some clients) or DVD Studio Pro.  :)

You can use locators as your chapter markers and then export the locators as a file.  You then import the locators file into DVD Studio Pro.  Make sure you check the timecode on the text file.  It seems that there is a bug that changes the timecode to frames.  I have done this several times and it does work.

What you need is metasync manager.

You can impot a metasync file into Avid that is used for creating chapter points and even thumbnails etc.

You then export your video, along with an XML file, and import that into Avid DVD by Sonic.

There is more info in the Avid DVD and Xpress pro / MC help files.

    Cheers

Unfortunately, we can't use the Metasync route on the Mac side.  Z, the locator method is in the Help if you have problems making it work using my brief description.
