    Audio Post Studio setup?

    hi Post Prod folks,

I have a question about the setup of a audio/video post production studio.

I want to add ADR, foley and sound to picture to my services. From simple field recording synced to video - to hopefully - dialog recording to film/tv where voice talents need to see what to sync to.

thus, for ADR and foley sessions, what would be the equipment setup to display the video in the recording room?

    My audio setup is
    - PowerMac G5 2Ghz 4GRAM
    - ProTools HD Accel 2
    - Lynx Aurora 16 w/ HD card
    - Rosetta800 w X-HD card

For video, I have an Avid Xpress Pro software, and waiting for delivery of a MOJO SDI.

What otehr equipment is needed and best setup that will enable smooth workflow for audio to video sessions.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

With Protools 7.3 you can play back your Avid media through the Mojo (there was a limitation against using the SDI mojo which may or may not have been cured by now)  You can also use quicktimes in Protools and playback to a FS 2nd monitor

You will also need the DigiTranslator addin for Protools to enable you to transfer Avid audio timelines into Protools

You import a Quicktime file into Pro Tools... file/import/video/*.mov.

It appears on a separate track. Then when you play the Pro Tools timeline... the video plays in a Quicktime window on your computer monitor.

So, if you video card supports it, you can add multiple monitors and drag the quicktime window to any monitor and play it... you can right click inside the player window and size it to fit the screen.

[...and/or you can view video via the Mojo to a client monitor]
