Greetings..
I'm working on a short that was shot 1080:24PsF (double system..i.e the Vedio is on HDCAM and the audio is on DAT tapes). After I digitized the HDCAM tapes I tried to digitize the DAT tapes. I have Sony 7040 DAT recorder, I moved the serial cable from the VTR into the serial port on DAT to start digitizing. Connect the AES/EBU (Digital out on DAT) into AES/EBU in on the DNA box. I tried to auto-configure the DAT, I got an error message saying that I'm using a Pal machine into a 24P project.. It seems that MCA couldn't read the machine. I tried it many times, in vain. Then I did the capturing manually after I removed the TC track, and I could get the audio into Avid but I didn't know why I couldn't auto-configure the 7040 machine and thus control the machine from inside the Avid?
Thanks
Dan
What was the timecode recorded on the DAT during production? What timecode out is set on the DAT machine for output over the 9 pin?
Do people still use DAT?
Michael
