hi there!

has anybody a tip how to handle multiple image sequences on the media composer?
the problem is that i will receive between 100 and 200 image sequences in the same amount of folders on an external hard disk. the media composer is not very convinient when it comes to the import proces. i don't want to sit next to the computer for hours importing sequence after sequence! any help on the issue?

it also bothers me that MC goes crazy on large image sequences (more than 2500 frames!) are they working on that?

In the options section of the import tool, highlight "autodetect sequential files".  Then select all the appropriate files in the import tool brouser and you're off and running.

Actually you only need to hilight the first numbered file, MCA will find the rest.

So you are going to have 200 different folders each with tiff sequences in them? Youch, that is a lot. Not sure there is any faster way to do it than to: 1. open each folder and highlight the first frame and import, 2. repeat until tired. Is there some other NLE that you have used that can manage a task like this better? Just curious.

Try this out. A tip from the redoubtable Mr B Sutie - it works a treat:

If you are using a numbering system like XXSC001_001.tga (where XX is the project name, SC001 is scene1 and the first frame is 001.tga) then search the folder containing all scenes for *001.jpg   This will find the first frame of every shot.

Select all in the search window, and drag them to a bin, sit back, go for a beer, no more select / point click/ select /point click etc etc . . .
