Anti virus software compatable with Avid

I have avid express pro and I'm using an older version of Norton Anti Virus software. I was using Mc Afee Virusscan professional version 9. This interfered with my avid. Do anyone know what anti virus software I can use that will not interfere with avid?

I use AVG. simple, non-invasive, and easy to set up in a manual mode so it doesn't interfere with AVID. Recomended to me by an IT guy with years of experience helping develop non-invasive anti-viral apps. best of all; there's a free basic download for individual users so you can test it's compatability with your system (then opt for a single/multiple station license)

    good luck

I also use AVG and haven't had any problems. Get rid of Norton as soon as you can, their software is like a virus unto itself. You may have to either re-install Windows or get a tool off the Norton website to remove it fully (their software is notoriously hard to get rid of).

I have install F-secure and disable realtime scanning and the firewall (have hardware firewall on the net). I have not find any problem due to this software.

I also use avg i have had it on three seperate avid sytems with no problems. The first thing I do when I buy a new machine is power up and uninstall anything Norton.

Also, I have ran Avast without problem on an Avid system.

Had nothing but trouble with the Norton product. Norton realizes the problem and even has posted a program to use in removing the anti-virus program so it does not screw up AVID.

Have not had a moment's problem with AVG, and have used it for more than a year with AVID Xpress.

Try the free AVG download to see how well it gets along with AVID.

Anyone know how to completely remove F-secure?  I want to install AVG - but the unistall programme with F-secure seems to leave something behind, so AVG keeps detecting it and wont install.

Avid started crashing after I installed the latest version of Avast tonight. Hadn't had any problems before hand, but my system became unstable after the install. Avast would even hang and I could not shut the machine down in safe mode.

I uninstalled Avast and everything seems okay now. I really liked Avast, but I'm trying no antivirus for awhile. It's not like I check email on my editing machine, but sometimes I go on to the internet with it. So we'll see.

I also set the  AVG daily scheduled update of virus definitions to 4 AM, so when I power up the computer, it immediately does the update. That way it won't occur during an Avid output (which would halt the output)).

Been using Norton on two different systems for a number of years now.  No problems at all.   You just don't want to do a scan while you are working in Avid.

NOD 32 or BLINK.  Both bulletproof.

They moved the doc : http://avidtechnology.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/avidtechnology.cfg/php/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=qPmMfS3j&p_li=&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_file_id=2209&p_tbl=9&p_id=70738&p_created=1201218419&p_olh=0

As I cant get Boris Continum to validate I have to give in and hook the Avid to the net (dont have a fax to fax Boris as option 2!).  I will use AVG as I find it very unintrusive when it is scanning - hardly seems to slow down my other PC's.
