I appreciate this post. I really don't understand Permissions, or like having to mess around with them. Two questions:
What if change permissions according on more than the specified folders? For example: the ENTIRE Applications Folder?
Should I have less of a problem if I'm using e-SATA without any firewire device except the Mojo? Because I'm having the problem with my e-SATA device as well.
I read here a while back that without a Mojo or Adrenaline connected one would not get Bus Errors... after a slew of them this morning, I removed my Mojo and they're continuing. Hmmm. What's that mean?
No, no one said you won't get them if your DNA was discontinued. If I remember the discussion correctly, what we were saying is that the DNA is a big contributor to the errors and that they MIGHT go away without them connected.
Bad media can also cause bus errors. So can a lot of other things.
Do you really want to know what's wrong...or do you just want me to fix it?
FCP2Avid
Got it. Thanks Dog... Any hope that Avid is approaching a fix? Or will the new PCIx hardware be the only way out? I can't have these when my director finishes shooting.. though he put up with them on the last show.
(How's Lansing these days? I'm from Saginaw/Bay City... oops, off topic)

Well, let's just say they are working on it. 3.0 has come a long way towards stability but I was still getting the errors occasionally using the DNAs.
One of the guys on 3.0, running no DNA interface, is getting the bus error. I believe that he brought over some old titles. That might be one to test/watch.
Don't trust the internet...
So, this is me having Bus Errors, better, just one Bus Error during Initializing the Application.
See the attached pic.
Each time it stops at initialize AVX2 Host...
Tried Todd´s suggestion to check and change the permission of the folders, but it is still occuring.
i thought i could play with 3.0.1 at least once on my kinda antique mac.
any ideas on that?
regards
Do you have any plugs installed in the AVX2 folder @ Library>Application Support>Avid?
If so, first check the permissions on that folder, if that's not it, remove the plugs in that folder, trash it and try again.
you´re pretty quick...
there´s a lot of Boris.avx stuff in there.
When i put that in an folder on the desktop and start the MC again, the same message appears on exact the same place?
Did you delete that folder though?
now i have...
try to start and...
same Error message
Did anything change?
nope
Ok, then you are going to have to make sure that you do a clean install of the Tiger software (an archive and install should suffice) and then try the install of 3.0.1 again.
