My issue is the same - with MC 2.8 software and a 24 min cut-off of the m2t file.

Hi,
You might want to consider updating to 5.7 or 5.8. A lot of the people running Xpress Pro with this problem seem to be running 5.5. or 5.6.
good luck,Carl

Just speaking to Avid tech support and they have recreated this and are entering it as a bug.

Does anyone have a status update on this importing situation? I still have a long m2t file (7gb, 37 mins) that is being cut off at 24 minutes in MC 2.8 The original m2t file, captured on a sony flash recorder - was merged using their software - and if i just import the two shorter m2t files, 4 and 3 gb, there is a few frames that is missing - hence the need for the merging program...
Thank you!
What sort of status are you looking for? This was reproduced on April 2nd and is in the works. What else would you like to know?
Part of my workflow is halted until I figure out a workaround - or until I know of an estimate from Avid for a fix...Thanks for your help Bkldog!
Well, I can tell you that it's logged as a bug but it won't be fixed until Avid gets a release out. I don't think you'll see it in 2.8.3 but maybe 3.0.
I'm having the same problem with XPRO version 5.7.7.
After speaking with nNovia support, a work around that should work, would be to format as FAT32, that way it will capture as mulitple 2g files...and will be imported as shorter files...once they're in, just drop them all into a timeline.
Good news! MC 3.0 has finally resolved this problem. I've tested it and sucessfully imported my full 44:00 min. m2t file in approximately 8 minutes.

Cor Blimey Guv!!!.. about time too!!! I will also test that out.
I just wanted to confirm this - that the MC 3.0 can now import .m2t files (say from the compact flash recorder on the Z7u) that are longer than 24 minutes... In previous versions it cut the file upon import.
Thanks-
