You're quite welcome, glad that solved your problem. Ironically, I have mapped the 1-4 key functions (reverse 10 frames, reverse 1 frame, forward 1 frame, forward 10 frames) to the trim keys at M, comma, period, slant because I find it easier to have those closest to the enter key.

Here's something else you may find useful, a list of keyboard shortcuts. They're for Newscutter on PC, but all the keyboard functions are the same as Composer, except that keyframing is on the "N" key and segment editing is activated and deactivated by the colon and apostrophe keys. For Mac, just substitute "option" for "ALT" and "CMD (or Apple)" for "CTRL".
Just one last note on this.
I had actually remapped by keyboard over the 1-5 keyes... But I still had the frame advance keys on the left right arrow keys on the keyboard.
Those standard left/right keys (with that same frame advance function) do not work in this script view, while the exact same Avid function WILL work when mapped (default) to the number keys.
I found that odd. And it was probably the reason it took me so long to figure out what was happening.

That's pretty interesting, but suddenly I'm a big confused about Avid "default" keyboard mapping.
(this may be a bit off topic for this thread, but it is probably not worth starting a new post)...
Looking at that PDF, for NewsCutter, it *seems* that those are about the same Defaults for Avid XP Pro... However, since I switched to Media Composer, I've noticed the defaults are quite a bit different.
Since I was starting fresh on Composer I decided to re-look at my keyboard commands. As in that document, I had the letter H mapped to "Add Edit". I had thought that I did that on my own because the AXP default was blank. When I reset the keyboard to default in Media Composer, that H key was mapped to the "Focus" function.
Also, ";" and " ' " are mapped in newscutter (and I think AXP) to the Splice segment mode and overwrite segment modes... However when defaulted in Media Composer, they are blank and "add keyframe" respectively.
Anyway, I found that interesting... Most stuff looks standard, but there seem to be some major differences.
I was thinking about how interesting it would be if Avid built a database where you could submit your keyboard layout and it would give you stats about what functions are mapped where across the entire community. That would be a pretty interesting think to look at. (You'd want to be able to fiter by Right-Handed and Left-Handed users though. )
Oh, and here's a image comparison... The NewsCutter layout from the .pdf you linked to VS the Default Media Composer 2.8 keyboard (right click and select "restore to default" on Keyboard in settings list.
Yeah, I forgot about the focus button...those keyboard differences also exist between Newscutter Adrenaline and Media Composer Adrenaline, we have both and it's annoying when I have to switch off between the two apps, but what can you do - the Avid engineers don't understand the concept of common keyboard assignments across a product line. I think you'll find that all the CTRL and/or ALT (OPT and/or CMD) combinations are exactly the same, or at least I have no found any differences between them. Two other annoying differences between MCA and NCA are (in NCA) the lack of the center duration window and the inability to play in the trim mode.
