Hi Fairmorn. Can you tell us a little more about your workflow and setup. Are you shooting to an interlaced format?

If "shooting" meaned "capturing", than I capture analog and digital video through Sorenson Squeze - there is no any settings for capturing - all automatically.
Captured file always have some interlacing on move between fields ( so called "combs" or "stairs" ).
After that I converting this captured file through Canopus Pro Coder choosing in Target "Non-Interlaced" mode.
Target I choose "QuickTime6 - DV for Avid Xpress - PAL" "Apple DV - PAL".
And after convertion I import new deinterlaced file to Avid.

    Result always very good

Re: thin green line in composer / exported quicktime

May be too many steps, but even when I captured digital video directly in Avid, I always had interlacing in captured video...

Try the imports with DV25p 420 selected in the Import Resolution. From what I have found this is mostly OK, but if you do start to get the green line, you could choose 14:1p.

This is the Media Composer forum, therefore its expected that people will have 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 etc, however if you are using Xpress Pro, the best you can do is choose 14:1p
Ahhh I see now, yes I was assuming MC.

Re: thin green line in composer / exported quicktime

    To the "engineers":
Another very good method to minimise the green line is by usimg an evil eye bead.
Any blue stone will do but turquoise is the best. (avoid transparent stones...)
You simply hang the bead somewhere at your screen, that's all.
Some people have experienced a speed increase in rendering, I'm not sure about that.
And it is Vista compatible too !
    Good Luck !

You could try working in the nude. I'm sure no one would see a thin green line in your QT files then... :)

Can anyone confirm whether or not this problem is still present in the latest upgrade?

I'm not sure if I'm putting my turquoise in the right place, it doesn't seem to be having any effect. Does it matter if I have a dream-catcher in the room?
