Idea [I] INFORMATION POSTING No 6: USING CHROME HD WITH MORE THAN 2GB RAM

Using Liquid chrome HD with more that 2GB RAM

    INTRODUCTION:

As RAM memory decreases in price and as more users upgrade the memory on their Liquid ChromeHD systems, I figure this is worth documenting here along with my other hints:

HOW TO CONFIGURE FOR MORE RAM:

To use ChromeHD with either 3GB or 4GB RAM in the Windows file c:\boot.ini, section [operating system], add the following switch:

    /3GB/userva=2500

I reccomend adding this as a separate line in the c:\boot.ini file.

This reserves 2.5 GB of user memory and makes sure that the ChromeHD card will be properly detected by the system.

DISCLAMER: This information (and the other Information/Knowledge postings on this Avid Liquid Chrome HD Webboard) are the opinion of Dean Athan and not official Avid documents.
