Head and Tail Fade not working

While working with some clips, i can put a head fade or tail fade on the clip, but not if it is edited next to another clip in the timeline.

This behavior is showing in MC and MC first.

    on 2019.11 with new settings

....does that effect only work on the top and tail of a sequence?...that would explain it...

...i never really worked with that effect much...

to fade out and in, keep a minimum of one frame between your clips and it will work.

    ...great tip...I will try that....

...does that create a 1 frame gap?...or do you put black or filler there first?

Re: Head and Tail Fade not working

It works like a dissolve.  Black or filler are fine.  If you have it butted up against a clip it's a dissolve starting or ending at the cut point depending on whether you use the head or tail version.

I tend to use it when I want to time my fades/dissolves visually rather than numerically.
