Hi, I cant splice or overwrite to the timeline, I can put source footage in the source window but it doesn't appear in the record monitor window, I can see a clip in the source monitor timeline display but not in the record monitor timeline display and I cant edit anything in that source timeline display either. My RAM is maxing at 93% also, See attached screenshot, could this be the issue?

At a loss, any help appreciated.

Hi Sean,

 It would help to know more about the system you're working on. What version of what Avid product are you using? Which specific OS? What processor? What video card? How much RAM? Where is your media stored? 

If you edit your user profile, you can add this information so you don't have to type it all the time.  (Look at the bottom of this post for an example.)

Hi, thanks for reply, updated info as requested, I'm working of a STA Seagate 1TB drive, USB 3.0

Whats using all your RAM? The screen grab doesn't show all the apps and whats shown isn't using much.

Pre launching of MC RAM is 38%, post launch 98%, just checked now.

Any other thoughts? I'm still experiencing these issues.

With MC Open...... go to The Activity Monitor ( Mac ) or Task Manager (PC ) and Fore quit AppManHelper and Avidbckgroundservices.

Report back if that changed it

Thanks, did that, RAM still clocking 90%, can't edit into timeline, audio is lagging in source browser.

Any other ideas?

Hi, no. Just have speakers attached to the system, running 4k footage off a external hard drive, linked and trancoded in avid.

What happens with new project and new media?

What kind of media are you accessing? Via AMA?

Set up New Project with new media, its just some low res phone footage for this test that i've just linked to.

I get selected clip in source and record windows, and i can edit them into a sequence, but if i try to double click another clip from a bin , into the source window, the source and record windows are cleared of media and I have to reopen the bin the clips are in, this keeps happening.

Is this purley a RAM issue? Should I just buy more?
