Serious problem with playback MC 2019.7.0

I have two serious issues that maybe are related in some way.

     - The first issue is that the playback of the video suddenly stops working. The playback button green light goes on and off while I press it but the video doesn´t play at all, nor the sound. I doesn´t matter if I press play through the keyboard or the interface. To get out of this problem I can save the project, and restart the computer. It appears totally unexpected.

    - The second problem is that the spinning ball comes up, and I´m not able to do anything. It spins for about 10 seconds, then stops, before it starts again. And in that short space where it doesn´s spin I´m able to move the cursor, but I´m not able to press any command. To get out of this problem I have to force quit the program, restart the computer and the program. I really can´t see any connection to any special command leading to this issue, but possibly that I´m doing a series of commands in a quick pace. Usually it leads to some work lost.

Both of these problems appear maybe ten times a day, almost periodically.

Yes I have created a new user. Totally deleted the old files from the MC version before.

Grateful for some help on this one...

    /Erik

Re: Serious problem with playback MC 2019.7.0

    Hi

I just teached new Avid MC 2019.8 in class on OS X 10.14.6 on iMacs with no external video card (just iMac monitor) and we had several times the same issue. Suddenly no video in source or record monitor. Resizing the composer window fixed the problem or changing from dual to single composer monitoring. I could not figure out when this happens. I thought I have read this was fixed in 2019.7?

Btw: New user profile was created.

Re: Serious problem with playback MC 2019.7.0

Thanks for your reply Gorib. I will try this next time the issue appears. I have two external screens connected to my Macbook Pro, one through HDMI, and one through the mini-display. Maybe this could cause the problem. The thing is that I didn´t have the problem on the old version 2018 of Mediacomposer, with the same setup of screens. So hopefully Avid is looking into this.
    Cheers

Re: Serious problem with playback MC 2019.7.0

    Hi Erik

I had latley the same problem with the spinning ball. It turned out, that Avid MC versions > 2019.6 have really problems with older projects. My solution was: Setting up a new project in 2019.6 or higher and copy all bins from the old project into the new one. Then everything worked again.

But I still have the problem that my source monitor goes black from time to time. Only resizing the windows or reload the workspace helps.

It seems like the problem have ended when I changed drive. I tried to copy all of the materal to another drive and I´ve been working all day without the issue to appear. Very relieved. Thanks for your help everyone....
