    DNxID Thunderbolt dock connection

I have a qualified HP laptop and docking station and am in the market for a DNxID. Does it make a difference whether the unit is connected to the G2 dock or the laptop itself?

It should not but careful about bandwidth. TB3 has a fixed bandwidth of 40Gb/s. You will share that with the DNxID and any other devices including monitors, storage, peripherals, etc. A 4K monitor would need about 18 Gb/s just by itself.

    Re: DNxID Thunderbolt dock connection

Thanks Dom, I run the 2nd monitor Hdmi directly from the laptop at only 1920 x 1080 and storage is USB 3.0 raid. Do you know if the 2nd TB3 port on the laptop is shared? Presumably it is. My current BMD I/O device won't work from the dock for some strange reason too, so that is why I asked.
