    S4810 configuration

    Hi All,

I have an S4810, that was setup in Avid config.

As I understand, the Avid config allows 6 x 10 GigE devices, and 42 x 1 GigE devices.

I need to add on additional 10gigE devices, but when I do this, on some of my devices I am only getting only 1 GigE speeds, even though there is a link speed reported of 10000 Mbit.

Here is the output of show interfaces for the port:

    Avid-Core#show interfaces te 0/33

TenGigabitEthernet 0/33 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is DellForce10Eth, address is 00:01:e8:8b:8f:f5
    Current address is 00:01:e8:8b:8f:f5
Pluggable media present, SFP+ type is 10GBASE-SR
Medium is MultiRate, Wavelength is 850nm
SFP+ receive power reading is -3.3630dBm
    Interface index is 42271746
    Internet address is not set
Mode of IPv4 Address Assignment : NONE
    DHCP Client-ID :0001e88b8ff5
MTU 1554 bytes, IP MTU 1500 bytes
    LineSpeed 10000 Mbit

    0 throttles, 0 discarded, 0 collisions, 0 wreddrops
    Rate info (interval 299 seconds):
    Input 00.00 Mbits/sec, 1 packets/sec, 0.00% of line-rate
    Output 00.00 Mbits/sec, 17 packets/sec, 0.00% of line-rate
Time since last interface status change: 3d5h33m

Currently, I am seeing a maximum of 100 MB/s throughput on this port, even though both the switch and device are reporting 10000 Mbit connections.

Show config on the port shows this:

    interface TenGigabitEthernet 0/33

     no ip address

     flowcontrol rx on tx off

     spanning-tree 0 portfast

     no shutdown

So I'm at a loss why I'm not getting any additional speed out of the system.

    Re: S4810 configuration

The S4810 can accommodate 48 10GbE connections. There is enough bandwidth in the fiber to do so. One of our switches is currently hosting around 40 connections at that speed.

What device are you using? Do you have a device bandwidth limit on in the Nexis/ISIS GUI? Tested with Path Diag, both directions indicate ~100 MB/s?
