Unimaginable long time to open BIN and Sequences

    Hello,

I have a serious problem with the opening time of BINs and Sequences.

BIN can open up to 20 minutes.

The attempt to open the sequence is up to 15 minutes.

BINs are not so big, they are from a few to several sequences.

Sequences that open long are in very small BINs

    (1 sequence)

From what I was able to find, I did it:

    1. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/troubleshooting/Ways-to-speed-up-Media-Composer-bin-save-load-switching-between-applications-and-startup - nothing it helped

    2. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/troubleshooting/en397171 - also without a positive result

    3. https://forums.creativecow.net/docs/forums/post.php?forumid=345&postid=373&univpostid=373&pview=t - also without a positive result

    4. Fresh installation of WIN 7 PRO on Z440 avid 2012.12.5 - without improvement

    SPECIFICATIONS:

    1. The problem began to occur at Z4 Avid 2012.12.3

    2. Project data and media are on AVID ISIS 5500 workspace

    3. Connected by the Intel (R) PRO / 1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter

Re: Unimaginable long time to open BIN and Sequences

    Hello Marianna,

    Thank you for your response.

During the fight with the problem, it turned out that Media Composer, for some reason, switched master clips back to AMA ... As a result, my editors worked on parts of consolidated clips that were on ISIS and parts of clips AMA link clips on the usual NAS serving us to backup clips.

I think that was the reason for the long opening of BINs, because right after disconnecting the network interface connected to the NAS, Media Composer started to open everything normally and Media Offline appeared on the sequences.

At the moment we are dealing with the AMA relink back to consolidated clips that are on the ISIS workspace.

I hope that this will solve the problem.

However, there was a second problem, why Avid lost the link to consolidated clips and connected to clips stored on the NAS that were AMA link before consolidating them on the ISIS workspace.

I do not know if this topic can be continued in this thread, should I open a new thread?
