Try deactivating and reactivating your license. I've seen this a couple of times and that's always fixed it for me.

Aw, hell, I thought as I hit send "That couldn't be a dongle, could it? No, that wouldn't make any sense."

Glad to hear it. Let's never speak of it again.
Thanks camoscato,
Yeah, very strange, both systems with dongle, one went smooth the other with hiccup :)
I've had this happen in the past with dongles (both Avid and Resolve).
A quick removal and re-insertion of the dongle into the same/different USB port clears it.
I suspect it's simply dirty/bad contact problems on the pins. We tend to assume these ports just work all the tiime, but they're relatively cheap connectors and can suffer from contact problems caused by dust etc.
One clue from the Resolve dongle was that the led was flashing (rather than steady ON).
One thing I've also done is to attach very short USB extenders to my dongles. I plug/unplug my dongles from my laptop at fairly regular intervals. Having seen the way USB ports can wear over time I felt it would be expensive to replace a dongle with faulty USB pins. Having extenders means the wear is limited to the extender/laptop ports
Glad it fixed itself. I've been having frequent license problems with my system, thankfull deactivating and re-activating usualyl fixes it.

I got that message too, after renewal, I have had to blast the dongle with the updater file from "My products" to get rid of it. On a software activated system deactivate/reactivate did the trick.
