    timecode readout of trimming position

This might seem a dumb question, and there are probably other routes to go, but here goes...

Is there any way to get a timecode display of there one is on the timeline, frame by fra, whilst one is trimming? In other words being able to see a TC display decrement or increment as one trims a clip - something than can be useful when one wants to trim a clip (without moving it) so that it's in or out position lands at a specific time?

So far, I can't seem to find this ability - but I hope someone will tell me where to find it...

    thanks :)

TC Display during Trim is a feature request that goes back at least 12 years. You are making all the right observations and have reasonable expectations... perhaps you can request it in the FR forum.

Re: timecode readout of trimming position

I guess if this request had been posted many times - probably by more experienced Avid users than myself - over the past 12 years, then it had been decided somewhere that it will never be implemented :) So another feature request is perhaps a wasted effort?

I'd be interested to hear how many users feature requests actually get implemented, or whether the forum for them is simply (as is the case with many manufacturers) a way of letting the customers let off steam and keeping the designers and decision makers free from having to talk to us?

Maybe I'm just too cynical today :)
