    saw several editors lose multiple hours worth of work due this issue in the last few days.   

     

    it looks to me like background save isn't bin-lock aware and overwrites existing bins with 0KB background saves once the lock is released. Support has told me to use the console command: BackgroundBinSave to disable background save, but it does not appear to persist through a reboot. This is not a good solution for more than a single user and will likely results in a rollback to 2018.11 or .10 for all machines in our facility.

    Marianna, do you have any updates on this issue? We experienced it as well with 2018.12.1 (Avid ISIS 5000/5500 4.7.11) and rolled back to 2018.11. I see that 2018.12.2 is out but it doesn't seem to make any mention of this issue in the bugfix list.

    Anyone having this issue with a NEXIS?  Can you please try with the 2019.2.2 NEXIS Client? It has a fix for saving bin issue.

    Hi Marianna,

    We have a site that have just run into this issue. We have 6 mac systems on a 2 chassis (80TB total) Nexis Pro. This is happening predominantly on the editor's machine and with specific bins. However, these are the scene bins that the editor is working with most and so, cannot confirm yet if this is confined to those particular bins (my hunch says not!). 

    We are on OSX 10.14.2 MC 2018.12.1 and Nexis server 2018.11.9. We were on client 2018.11.9 but have just upgraded to 2019.2.2 and have encountered the issue twice today!

    We are currently using the console command to disable background save temporarily but will roll back to MC 2018.11 later today as there does not seem to be a fix in 2018.12.2.

    we are on nexis server 2018.11 and just rolled out client manager 2019.2.2

     

    still seeing bin save issues, including bins self-imploding and turning into 0KB corrupt files. I have updated my support case with the latest report...#03663950

    Hi,

    we had the same issue a couple of months ago. The case was reported to the support team.

    A clean install of the Mac OS and AVID MC in January 19 helped ... UNTIL TODAY.

    Completely random behaviour.

    Like that it is not possible to work with AVID MC.

    When will this BUG be fixed???

    Can I get some specifics that will assist us in narrowing down the issue?

    What version of MC?

    OS?

    NEXIS and if so what client version?

    Other storage?  what kind?

    Background save turned off does it happen?

    Can you produce crash logs and if so are you able to send them too me?
