    New Shape Tool in Symphony

How does one track a face with new shape tool.  Is there automatic tracking?  Key frames seems a bit clunky -

I am sure I need a better understanding.  Is there any tutotrials out.

    thank you

I think tracking is not yet implemented.

Let me correct that, it is possible to track shapes. You need to leave the color correction mode and enter the effect editor. There you can chose the shape and use the tracking feature.

It works quite well from my test, but of course it's not comparable with the feature set in DaVinci Resolve for example.

And I was only successful with one shape and one correction, however havin multiple shapes on nested layer I couldn't get it to work.

Re: New Shape Tool in Symphony

I was able to create a separate shape and attach a second tracker to that shape. Of course, every shape shares the same grade at the moment. This certainly has its uses but once you've used node-based grading as in Resolve, it's difficult to imagine Symphony as a replacement. Different tools for different jobs, though. If they get to the point where they support multiple corrections / shapes it will become quite powerful.

A haven't tried it but I assume the size of the shape (and its node points) can be keyframed on top of the tracked position - is that true?

edit - just tried it with a circular shape and was able to keyframe its size over the course of a tracked position... cool
