Hi, nope, you can only customize shortcuts with "shift + (arrows) "

    Regards.

It's possible, but only with a third-party app like Quickeys or Karabiner.

Karabiner is much more powerful, but a little less user friendly. Either one should work for what you're hoping to do.

Re: Modify keyboard with command+ ?

If I were you I'd start with Quickeys first. I think support for it is starting to drop off, but I believe it works up through OS 10.12, and you can download a fully functioning trial to make sure you like before you buy.

First, in MC assign the function you want to an unused key (F1 for example). Then you create a hot key in Quickeys -- basically tell it to press F1 every time you press "command + arrow left." You can also set it so this happens in Media Composer only.

If for some reason Quickeys does not work for you, Karabiner is awesome and worth the trouble for customizing your keyboard beyond what MC allows.

Do you know how to set "command + arrow left" to F1 in Karabiner?

Re: Modify keyboard with command+ ?

Look at this page and scroll down to Configuration. Your two-key combo may be a "Simple Modification." If the addition of the modifier key makes it a "Complex Modification" you'll need to create a new rule...probably best to appeal to someone for help in the Karabiner community for that. I used to be able to build custom rules but Karabiner has changed over the years and now uses .json files which I haven't had time to explore. I recently needed a custom rule built and asked for help in a Karabiner forum and someone helped out.

Explore the Simple Modification solution first and report back.

Again, Quickeys is easier for what you wanna do.
