Thanks, just downloaded and installed it.
Installed 2018.11 and MC crashed on opening a project.
Downgraded back to 2018.9 and everything went smoothly.
I don't use 2018.10 because there's a bug with Caps lock and trimming.
2018.11 resolves the trim/caps lock bug.
Did you uninstall the software or did you use App Manager to update?

Just a few thoughts
I have installed the new version on Mojave. It seems stable. No crashes so far.. not using all feature obviously, so not sure about bugs. The way I'm setup it works fine. Enjoying the live timeline. Not sure why that took so long... So far so good... it's slower to open and when it auto saves - slighty annoying. Close down is also slower.
someone said earlier . make a version with all bugs fixed before adding new features. I so agree with that.

I've just run into a reoccuring issue with 2018.11. I'm cutting on a sequence with only one audio track in the timeline and no video. A couple of minutes into cutting with caps lock on for audio scrubbing and I get the spinny beach ball that never goes away. I have to force quit. This only is an issue if I have hardware enabled. Once I disable it I can work fine.
Here is my system info:
Mac OS 10.13.6
Late 2013 Mac Pro 6 core 3.5 Ghz
16 GB RAM
AMD FirePro D500
Black Magic Intesntive Extreme - Desktop Video ersion 10.11.4
When adding multiple Audio keyframes to clips on one track I can not anylonger select a single keyframe, all is selected automatically. I have not experienced this in previous version.
Or am I doing something wrong?
Regards
Lars
Audio doesn't have played back when I was in trim mode

I am having persistent crashing issues. I upgraded to Mojave and 2018.11 a few weeks back, but this is just my second day back to work full time, and Media Composer is crashing on me almost once an hour.
I first notice the freeze in the timeline, I try to save as quickly as possible, then I run into the beach ball which never resolves and Avid quits unprompted.
I changed the timeline movement to None (off of Page or Scroll) which has historically given Media Composer issues, and that helped a little, but I'm still getting regular crashes.
If I can't find a quick fix, going to do the unfortunate downgrade over the weekend. Looking at Mac OS High Sierra and 2018.8 as the most recent stable setup -- does anybody think there's a better OS and Media Composer to downgrade back to?
I am currently running Media Composer 2018.11, and Mojave 10.14.1
iMac (Retina 5k, 27-inch, 2017)
Processor: 4.2 GHz Intel Core i7 quad core
Ram: 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Graphics: Radeon Pro 580 8192 MB
Storage: 2 external drives
OWC ThunderBay 4 RAID (9 TB) thunderbolt connection
OWC Mercury Elite Pro Qx2 (20 TB) USB 3.0
I'm not on Mojave and haven't had any issues, so I'm not sure what to suggest.
Perhaps you should call Avid support before going through the downgrade process?
Is there a place to report bugs?

You should contact support via the portal and start a case and they can reproduce it and if a bug log it.
We didn't get a thread for 2018.12 but it's now common knowledge that it's out.
I'm cutting a series and we're using several machines on 8.8.5, all on the same Nexis shared storage. I will need to have one running 2018.x in order to get a monthly ScriptSync subscription.
Is there a consensus on the most stable 2018.x version? I don't need the scrolling timeline and the new Titler, it will be a machine used by the assistant. The thing that matter most is backward compatibility for the project/bins. In order to avoid version problems, the idea is to save the Avid project locally on the Scriptsync machine and to send the bins/scripts to the shared storage project manually. That way, the master project is 8.8.5 across the cutting machines.
I sort of remember 2018.5 being not bad, but it could be my memory. I was going to go for 2018.12 but I'm not 100% convinced it's the best for our situation, having read most threads on the forum.
Haven’t done any extensive comparisons, but have been working on 2018.5 since the summer and that has proven to be very stable.
