here is a link to the video file I posted on Reddit showing the situation
Sorry in advanced for the watermark on the example video (too cheap to buy a screen recording program that grabs system audio).
I'm having a problem with Avid, when I cut any sort of audio clip and put part of it on a different track; there is a slight break in audio playback that sounds like it's missing a frame of the audio clip. This does not happen when both clips are on the same track, only when they are separated. Why is this happening??
the video shows these events:
audio playback works with uncut clip
audio playback works with cut clip on same track
audio playback skips when cut clip is on two different tracks.
Check the sample rate on the clips and see if they need to be converted to the project sample rate.
Must think of something clever to go here...
sorry for being so dumb, How would I go about checking the project sample rate? Right now all I can see is that the sequence im working in is set to 1280 HD at 23.976.
also the music file I'm using is a AIFF file at 48k 16bit
You can check the project sample rate in Settings>Audio Project Settings.
If you right-click on the sequence in your bin and select Audio>Change Sample Rate, you can convert all the clips to your project rate.
Not sure if this is the cause of your issue, but it's worth a try.
sadly I am using Media Composer| First, so both :
Settings>Audio Project Settings
and Audio>Change Sample Rate
arent options that show up for me
