Find function not working in 8.8.5

I've been unable to use the "FIND" function for several weeks now, and previous posts on the forum with fixes have not worked. I have trashed the SearchData folder for my system, multiple times, to no avail.

What has worked was taking someone else's system "SearchData" folder and tossing that in my project, which populates a search. Yet all the clips are unclickable, they will not open in the source montior. Dragging them over to the source monitor won't load them either.

It is not a user settings issue as I've created new user settings, used other user settings in different projects on my system, again still no luck.

    Any thoughts?  Ideas?

Re: Find function not working in 8.8.5

UPDATE: We've noticed that the SearchData file itself is being saved as a .TXT file (text file), whereas other systems SearchData folders where the FIND function IS working, their files are saved as UNIX files.  Possible we've got some corruption or a bug somehow, if this helps?
