Cloud UX - connecting to secure gateway based on IP authentication

    Hi All,

In the documentation (http://developer.avid.com/connector_api/net/docs-public/README.html) is mentioned, that

"When connecting to the Avid Platform, an authentication provider may be specified using a client idand client secret (default authentication is based on IP address)"

My question is how to "whitelist" IP addresses for Cloud UX (v2018.9) secure gateway to connect custom services to the bus?

    Thanks and best regards

    Hi matev,

We don't whitelist IPs anymore.  You'll need an id and secret to connect the service.

    Hi André,

Thank You for your answer. The client id and client secret mentioned in the documentation is the same thing as the app id and app secret generated on the marketplace? In other words, to start coding a service first we need to register an app and wait for appid confirmation?

    Hi matev,

Yes but we have plans to introduce development certificates that you can use in your development servers for signing your services.  Feel free to contact me by email for a follow up...

Re: Cloud UX - connecting to secure gateway based on IP authentication

    Hello André,

now we have appid and appsecret for our bus service and it is also included in our license file.

However when I start the service and want to connect to the bus there is this error:

[INFO]  11/17/2018 12:07:30 PM - Connecting to cloudux host

[INFO]  11/17/2018 12:07:31 PM - Connected to ACS bus

[ERROR] 11/17/2018 12:07:31 PM - Failed to register service: traco.acs, error: Forbidden by policies belonging to given service identity token.

We are using avid-acs-proxybal-net 2.8.0 and tried 2.9.1 version in .NET 4.5.1. To connect to a bus we are using this constructor:

    bus = new BusAccess(new Avid.Platform.Bus.ClientAuthentication("<appid>", "<appsecret>"), this);

then we are invoking bus.RegisterService(<service>, asyncresult).

Is this a license problem or we are invoking the API in a bad way?
