    Cannot Import Files

So I have several Mp4 clips I want to import, but it won't let me, nor will it let me link them, it just says they're not supported file formats. I changed them into AVI files but that didn't work either. I'm not sure what the issue is but it's very frustrating because I just had sorted out getting this installed properly and now it is useless. link and import both cannot work with, and sometimes just says it's an unkown file. Any ideas for fixing this would be appreciated, I am in a Theater and Film production class and this program would really be useful if it would only work.

Could you supply some detail about the mp4 files, what format, codec, how were they originated (camera type), and what version of Mediacomposer you are using and on what OS.

1440 x 900 aspect ratio, 11298bps data rate, 11494 total bit rate. 60 fps, recorded with AMD Radeon Relive, AVC encoding resolution set to match in game (Terraria) levels, audio bitrate 192. Is any of this the information that would help? I'm using windows 10 and I belive the latest version of the Avid Media Composer First.

Can you play the files in windows media player (not VLC)?

    In the Link dialogue window,

You can right-click on the Plugin information for a clip and change it to something else if there's an option.
