I need your recommendation for a good pc that can work with GH5 4K 10bit 4:2:2

    Hi

I need to buy a new computer in order to edit 99% video that will come from GH4 or Gh5 in 4K 8 or 10bit 4:2:2

Now as I am on a budget I want to know what is the best to buy a new I7 or an old dual Xeon HP workstation like the

    1. Z440

    2. Z820

    3. Z640

as I have sad my main work will be to edit in 90% will be up to 4 layers of video and 6 ch of audio and effect from avid or borisfx

Now I have searched the internet and also this forum but all I can find is old info and no in putting as on what is the lowest config computer that can run and play smooth video in 4k from the GH5

so if any of you guys here have HP workstation or any I7 that was purchased a few years ago and he also get to edit video from the Gh5 in 4k 10bit 4:2:2 and he know his computer is up for the work then if you can post your computer config and model it will help me to buy the strongest computer I can for low budget.

    Thanks
      Tamir

The HP "Z" workstations are extremly reliable and easily upgradable.   I've had several over the years and have been extremely satisfied with their performance.   Get the best graphics card you can afford.

Check out Videoguys.com website.   They list configurations for Z workstations that are tweaked for editing.

I have a fantastic editing assistant.  He stays by my side when I edit...doesn't talk too much...and thinks I'm a genius!    Check him out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQVkYaaPO6g

Thk for the input but I need to get an input from a person that has a pc
that can tell me I have for instance an Hp Z640 with this config and this CPU and I can tell you that you can work with 4k from Gh5 and you can play and edit in real time and you don't need to down sampel

as i don't want to buy a pc and only then to find out that it is not powerful enough for what i need it for.

yes if have the money to buy the latest Hp workstation of coruse it will work but as this is not the case for me and i will buy a used computer or a new one but not the latest model i need to know will going to HP z820 with dual cpu is batter then to buy a new I7 with one cpu

again I don't want any speculation I want to get an input for the field from the real work so I will know for sure that if i buy this model it will work

Take a look at this system as a baseline:

Depending on your budget, add or subtract to customize.

I suggest reaching out to GH5 users wherever they hangout, then look for a connection to MC and a particular computer. You can try Creative Cow forums as well as DPreview.

If you know of a link to download GH5 samples, you might find some folks here willing to test your multi-track Sequence at your spec.

    Good luck.

We are in the process of updating our HP builds to reflect the very latest Z workstations with Thunderbolt 3 cards included.

Hope to have them posted by month end. Prices have gone up as component shortages impact these killer high end workstations.

For around $5K you'll get dual Xeon procs, 16GB RAM, 256 SSD and Quadro P2000 GPU.
