After exhausting all of my resources and having a 3 hour screen share with Adobe I was hoping someone in the AVID world could help me with this issue.
I can not figure out why Quicktime references do not work in Adobe Media Encoder 2015.3 and above on my computer but it works perfectly fine on other computers with in our office. (There are 2 computers where it does not work in our office. One of the computers is brand new as of (01-12-2018)
I have tested the same project on multiple computers. If i made the QT REF with other computers it works fine but when I use my computer to make it. it fails to import into AME.
I have re-installed Quicktime, Avid, AME multiple times. This even happened when I got a new computer.
Could I be missing something in my AVID to cause this. I am currently running AMC 2018.7 and AME 2018.
Just to be clear. It is NOT because adobe stopped supporting Quick Time for PC. If that was the case it would not work for any computer in the office but it does.
Thank you for your time!
I've been trying to get this to work (since Sorenson is now defunct) but can't either. Word on the street seems to be that the latest version of Media Encoder doesn't support QT whereas previous versions did. Are all your computers running the same version? Anyway.. what seems to work splendidly is exporting an mxf OP1a and using that in ME. Colours all look great, actually way better than Sorenson ever did which always mucked about with levels.
The latest version of Media Encoder (2018) does not support QT reference files any more.

You can still use the 2017 version of Encoder to handle QT ref. files. You can have both the 2017 and 2018 versions installed and active together.
AME 2018 does not support QTRef.
In order to get it to work you need AME 2017 and QT7 installed -(not the player, just the components.)
I find this to not be the case. Two of our computers can export QTREFS from Avid and import perfect into AME 2018. I have tested this several times and on multiple AME versions (2015.3, 2017, and 2018). I am running all the same versions of everything on all computers which is why its really confusing me. I have AME 2017 and 2018 both on all computers (4 total)
It is only 2 computers where it doesnt work after version 2015.3. AME 2017 doesnt even except QTREFS from avid on these computers.
I guess i will just find a different work flow. I will try out Worldwiser's way. Thank you all for your input and advice!
Thank you I will give this a shot!
I am running all the same versions of Avid and AME. 2 work and 2 do not work. It is really confusing.
