Is there a thread already created that I should report 2018.7 bugs? I did not see one so I'll post this one here.
I am presently running Media Composer 2018.7 on Windows 7.
After moving a clip on the timeline with segment mode there is a ghosted, semi-transparent version of the clip that remains in its old spot. This visual ghost remains until change something else on the timeline (either zooming, scrolling, moving a new clip etc).
Live Timeline: I love the idea of the live timeline feature. It is one of the few things about Premiere that I really enjoyed versus my time on Avid. However, the new live timeline feature has some quirks to it that don't make much sense. For example- they claim you can create a marker and type in the marker window while playback continues. This is true- but only if you click a button on one of your tool palletes. It does not work if you use a keyboard command during playback. Also, you can not zoom in or out on the timeline during playback if you have zoom bound to a mouse function (I use scroll wheel and shift-scroll wheel).
Seeing the ghosting here too. It's annoying but workable. (Win 10, GeForce 1050.)
See the ghosting too. workable as just click a key to zoom out/in
also we have another odd one occasionally with title tool. Not easily repeatable unfortunately.
sometimes it works and saves fine, other times is opens, then when trying to save it doesn’t. The save dialog box loads and on save disappears and avid doesn’t save the changes. Have to restart avid to get it to work again, then it’ll work fine for so many and do again!
Noticed the marker thing too. Also would love it if adjusting track height with kb shortcut wouldnt stop playback.
Can you send a screenshot of what it looks like ?

have you tried to use keyboard shortcuts? it works fine!
the time you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted time...
UPDATE: No more ghosting here! Rebooting may have solved it -- but that's a best guess.
Although the ghosting persisted for a while it has since cleared up. If it occurs again I will be sure to grab a screenshot.
And to the other reply- yes, you can use keyboard shortcuts to zoom on the timeline, but I like my hands where they currently rest and like my workflow which incorporates my mouse. I just wish avid would keep up with mouse settings being as important as keyboard ones.
I'd also love to see a future version where audio levels can be adjusted during playback.
I am also experiencing the ghosting described by others. The image above shows the timeline after I have dragged and dropped the clip to the left in an empty space on the timeline. The blue is where the clip was, but this should disappear once I've dropped it. The only way to make it go away is by zooming the timeline in or out (ie: redrawing). This happens every 5 or so edits....
Any thoughts?
Simon

The ghosting returned for me as well.
Also, (continuing on my older post about zooming) while the timeline is playing back the “zoom in” feature behaves differently than it does when playback is stopped. It doesn’t seem to zoom in on the playhead in a centered fashion during live timeline playback. I would think zooming should be the same whether playback is rolling or stopped. It makes the zooming unpredictable.
Bizarrely im used to the ghosting now. Quickly press a key to zoom in/out
Its my title tool bug that frustrating me the most. Not sure if anyone else has experienced it.
Not sure how to PM on this forum - my email is simonfhagan@gmail.com
